An 18yr Old Teenager dies Under Police Custody

A teenager has died after being taken into police custody last night.
The 18-year-old was pronounced dead in hospital after being arrested in Liverpool city centre last night and falling ill while being held by Merseyside Police.
The case has now been referred to the Independent Police Complaints Commission.
The man is believed to be the ninth person to die in police custody this year.
The police called to the Liverpool One shopping complex yesterday to reports a male was carrying a knife and had tried to dive through the window of a chip shop kiosk.

Police said they could not confirm whether the man had a knife and Liverpool One security guards were already with him when their officers arrived.
