RIO US RUNNER ABBEY D'AGOSTINO HELPING NIKKI HAMBLIN AFTER THEIR COLLISION

As competitions continued in a variety of sports Tuesday from Rio, one event grabbed the attention of fans around the world.
During the women's 5000-meter race, Abby D'Agostino and Nikki Hamblin collided on the track. But in a true show of sportsmanship, the ladies seemingly sacrificed any chance at an Olympic medal to pick each other up and push each other to complete the race.
Four and a half laps later and the pair defied expectations and reached the finish line.
"That girl is the Olympic spirit right there. I am so impressed and inspired," Nikki shared with reporters after the race. "I had never met her, isn't that so amazing? It is a moment that I will never ever forget for the rest of my life."
