A 72-year-old man is among the “career criminals” arrested in Paris today in connection toKim Kardashian's armed robbery ordeal
French police made multiple arrests in the early hours of Monday morning following the October 2 incident, which saw £8.5 million worth of jewellery and two mobile phones stolen from Kim’s rented apartment.
A total of 16 men, described as veteran armed robbers, ranging in age from 50 to 72 were taken into custody after raids across the city.
“Coordinated raids took place at 6am today,” said a source close to the case.
“The men were arrested at addresses in greater Paris and in the Gard department. The oldest suspect is 72, while others are in their 50s and 60s. All are well known to the police.”
Police identified the suspects after DNA was left at the scene on a piece of tape used to gag Kim during the attack.

After a three month investigation, officers traced the DNA to a well-known criminal who had been involved in previous armed robberies.
A source said the DNA belonged to a “major thug” who has a number of convictions under his belt. The other men were linked to him.
One of the alleged robbers is also believed to have dropped a jewel worth £28,000 on the pavement outside Kim’s flat, and police were able to take a fingerprint from it which they matched to a known criminal.
The men can be held for up to 96 hours before a charge is made.
